Bible Verse of the day!
Good morning and praise The Lord! I pray that everyone had a blessed weekend! We had an awesome time yesterday in both of our services!
Today you will have three bible verses. These three scriptures work hand and hand with one another. Matthew 6:16-18 "Moreover when ye fast, be not as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, they have their reward. 17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thou face; 18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy father which is in secret: and thy father which seeth in secret , shall reward thee openly."
If you don't know anything about fasting you should first read this scripture. It's giving you instructions on what you should do and what you shouldn't do while fasting. Fasting is a way that you show GOD that you are willing to give up something for him. Showing him that you can sacrifice your natural desires for him. You are setting a specific time where you give up some natural things, whether its food or drink. When you fast you are seeking GOD the more. You may be fasting for The Lord to work a miracle in your life. When you fast you pray also and seek GOD"S face the more. The fast should make you stronger In the spiritual realm.
With that being said don't tell everybody in the world that you fasting . Keep that to yourself , that's between you and GOD! So why do you feel as if you have to tell everybody on Facebook that you're fasting. Read the scriptures. Talk with your pastor and get the concept of fasting. You maybe going on a fast with the whole church of course they all ready know but you're not suppose to tell everybody else. This is a critical time where you are seeking GOD for something. You don't need everybody in your business. You need for GOD to work on your behalf and work the situation out. I won't go too deep about fasting. There are different types of fast, just follow instructions from your pastor. But just know you want GOD to move for your in a mighty way, so when you fast don't make it appear to others that you are fasting. As it says it in the scripture GOD has a reward for you. Just be obedient to his word. Remember things are turning around for You!
